Here are the answers !

Always different !

Gliding is never boring. Soaring a glider is weather dependent and the weather is never the exactly the same. So glider pilots have to vary the use of their skills on every flight - to get the best from the conditions.

Inexpensive !

You will be pleasantly surprised how affordable gliding is. If you would like to fly, and power flying looks like it will make a hole in your pocket, then gliding is for you. It costs a fraction of power flying. Added to that, glider flying is quiet and "green".

A challenging pastime !

If you like a real personal challenge, what better than learning to be in sole control of a glider. Nobody ever forgets the tremendous thrill and sense of achievement from their first solo flight. After that there are loads more challenges - to fly higher, further, longer. And there are gliding competitions - Britain boasts several world gliding champions.

Unrepeatable experiences !

A soaring glider can take you to places in the sky, to see cloud vistas and get views of the world that no other type of flight can ever provide. Or you can have the excitement of low flying by ridge soaring along hill sides. For those who wish, there is the opportunity to fly aerobatics.

Membership of a friendly club !

Gliding is organised and run by clubs. We pride ourselves that ours is one of the most attractive gliding clubs, not only for flying, but also for the social, non-flying side of club membership. Situated in the Peak District countryside, Camphill is a great place to visit, to stay, and to make and meet good friends, - a place where you will be always welcome.
