Group Evenings - Size It Your Way 

Group evenings are a fantastic and fun way to experience the thrill of silent flight. What better way to introduce yourself to our sport than in the company of good friends.

On Monday to Friday throughout the summer, Club Flying stops at 6 o'clock. At 6:30 our airfield is all yours. Of course, we provide the aircraft, the ground crew and a team of dedicated instructors - but all our flying members have either gone home or retired to the bar.

Our BGA Instructors will give you a full ground briefing on the aircraft controls before taking you up into the air for your first exhilerating experience of a lifetime. Powerful V8 winches will take you from 0 -60 in about 3 seconds (Accelerating faster than a Porche).  and haul you to a height of about 1000ft before the instructor pulls the release. Then you are really free - free as a bird.

And when you, your friends and the evening are all flown out - it's back to the clubhouse for refreshments. Choose from our A-La-Carte Menu or just spend time relaxing in our well stocked bar. The Camphill bar is the gliding equivalent of golf's 19th hole. A strange place where the flights get longer and the climbs get higher the longer the evening goes on.

Mein Host, John will be delighted to serve you a thirst quenching  pint of our special guest ales, whilst for those who decide to dine with us, this  writer can HIGHLY recommend from personal experience, John and Sylvia's Old Spot Gammon
