A special present - one or more flights in a glider...!

Our gift vouchers are popular as presents on retirement or on special birthdays. The recipient gets a full explanation of gliders and gliding before getting the experience of one, two or three flights, according to voucher type, in a two-seat glider. As well as learning something about gliding, the lucky recipient gets breathtaking views of the Derbyshire Peak District.

Voucher holders become temporary members of the club. During their membership period, they can if they wish take advantage of the club facilities to get even more flying.

When it comes to taking voucher flights this is best done on Mondays to Fridays on a booked arrangement. Call the office. Else just arrive early on a fine day and we'll try to fit you in.

Please Note ...

• All voucher flights are instructional.

• A flight is a winch launch followed by flying up to 15 minutes depending on the weather.

• Voucher flights can be taken all on the same day or separate occasions during the validity of the voucher.

• Temporary membership applies for three months from the date of the last voucher flight.

• Further flights are available only within the temporary membership period and are charged at club members rates (see Flying Charges).

• There are height and weight limits of 6ft 3in (1.9m) and 16 stones (102Kg) respectively.

Terms and conditions

• Vouchers may be redeemed for the relevent number of trial lessons for a period of 12 months from date of purchase irrespective of any price adjustments DLGC may from time to time make.
• After the initial 12 month period, DLGC reserve the right to charge the voucher holder the difference between the price paid for the voucher and the cost of the equivalent voucher at the time the voucher is redeemed
• DLGC can and will refuse to fly any person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or appears to be unfit to fly at the appointed time for the flight. Under such circumstances, the voucher will be deemed to have been used. No refunds or alternative appointments will be offered.
• If you are on prescribed medication, please seek advice from you GP and inform the duty instructor on arrival at our launchpoint. If there is any doubt, we will offer an alternative appointment.
