What does it cost?

The cost of Flying Start membership is a huge reduction on normal joining and annual membership fees. For up to date details see Membership Fees. Remember, about half of this reduced fee pre-pays for your flying over the first few weeks. That's to ensure you really do get a "Flying Start".

If you have never been gliding before (or haven't flown for many years) - this is for you. It offers a low cost and low financial risk start to gliding club membership. If you want be a real pilot then this is probably the lowest cost way to start you'll find anywhere.

What do you get?

It's a once only deal that gives you:

• Low cost flying membership of the club for a year.
• Enough free (i.e. pre-paid) flying instruction to get you really started.
• Starter pack consisting of a Glider Pilots logbook, a copy of the club's "Pilots Manual" and a text book called "From Passenger To Pilot".
• After a year you can become a full flying member of the club by paying the normal annual subscription - exempt from the normal joining fee and reduced by the part-year rebate !
• And - there is money back if you find within 30 days it's not for you. In that period we'll refund any unspent part of your pre-paid flying fees.
